Sally Abé

British Chef and Author, The Bull in Charlbury

Sally Abé is an acclaimed chef, writer, and advocate for change in hospitality. She trained in some of London’s most respected kitchens, including The Savoy, Claridge’s with Gordon Ramsay, and The Ledbury, where she spent five years refining her craft under Brett Graham.

After working as Technical Food Editor at Great British Chefs, she returned to the kitchen as Sous Chef at Elystan Street before becoming Head Chef at The Harwood Arms, London’s only Michelin-starred pub, where she retained the star and helped secure its position as the UK’s top gastropub. She later became Consultant Chef at Conrad London St James, launching multiple concepts including The Pem, as well as becoming Head of Food at The Bull in Charlbury.

A three-time Great British Menu competitor, she achieved a major career milestone in 2025 when her starter was selected for the banquet. In 2024, she published A Woman’s Place is in the Kitchen, a widely praised memoir-manifesto addressing gender inequality in professional kitchens, and she continues to champion women and equity across the industry.
