🚢 New Customer | Irish Ferries🚢
Tevalis is proud to announce a new partnership with Irish Ferries, supporting the rollout of a dedicated EPOS, enterprise, and integration platform across one of the most operationally complex ferry fleets in Europe.
Irish Ferries operates a fleet of eight vessels, connecting Ireland with the UK and France across key routes including Dublin–Holyhead, Dublin–Cherbourg, and Dover–Calais.
The fleet spans cruise ferries, RoPax vessels, and fast craft, each with demanding onboard food, beverage, and retail operations.
Key vessels include:
• W.B. Yeats – Direct Ireland–France routes
• Ulysses – One of the largest cruise ferries on the Irish Sea
• Dublin Swift – High-speed fast craft
• Isle of Inishmore & Oscar Wilde – Dover–Calais operations
• Isle of Inisheer & Epsilon – Passenger and freight services
The fleet is largely owned and operated by Irish Continental Group PLC, with selected vessels chartered to support capacity and route requirements.
⚙️ The challenge
Ferry operations represent one of the most complex hospitality environments:
• Multiple onboard revenue centres across F&B and retail
• Peak-time demand within short sailing windows
• Offshore trading with limited connectivity
• Dual-currency requirements
• High guest expectations with zero tolerance for downtime
🚀 The Tevalis solution
Tevalis delivered a proven, enterprise EPOS platform built for life at sea, providing Irish Ferries with operational resilience today and a scalable foundation for the future.
Scope delivered:
• 60 EPOS terminals deployed across the 8 vessels within the fleet
• Centralised, cloud-based fleet management
• Full at-sea offline mode, with automatic sync on reconnection
• Dual-currency trading (EUR base with GBP support)
• Centralised menus, pricing, promotions, and reporting
🔗 Integrations
• FreedomPay – Enterprise payments
• Access Procure Wizard – Purchasing and sales export
• API Connected Business intelligence platforms – Reporting and insight
✅ The outcome
This deployment gives Irish Ferries a fully integrated, enterprise-grade EPOS foundation that performs reliably at sea while delivering greater consistency, visibility, and control across the fleet.
It provides powerful business intelligence and reporting, enabling more informed, data-driven decision-making with clear visibility across vessels, routes, and revenue centres.
The result is faster service, improved operational performance, and a more seamless guest experience across onboard dining and retail, particularly during peak sailings.
We’re looking forward to a long and successful partnership and a smooth voyage ahead ⛴️
